Meagan Stylist and Makeup Artist
As a graduate of the TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy here in Worcester, Meagan went straight out onto the floor and has been behind the chair for four years. She's been working in a salon setting for over five years now and is excellent at multitasking salon organization as well as hair styling. Being newer to the industry, Meagan enjoys taking advanced education to help increase her skill set and deliver the best of the best to all of her clients. With her experience in a variety of different types of salons, Meagan found a passion in hair color, kid's cuts and formal styling.
1. What would you consider your strengths in your career to be?
I get to know my clients on a personal level and am always very honest with them, building a solid foundation of trust. I like to be able to communicate openly back and forth to ensure the best outcome every time!
2. What are you most passionate about professionally?
I love to see the transformation a client can go through. Of course physically, but also emotionally. I genuinely care about the clients that sit in my chair so I want to keep up to date on current trends and techniques in order to offer the best services to my clients.
3. What are you most passionate about personally?
My family means more to me than anything in the world. All I ever wanted to be was a hairstylist and a mom. I’m currently living the life I’ve always wanted!
4. Why did you aspire to become a cosmetologist?
I grew up in a family primarily of women. There was so much hair and makeup around me at all times that I just fell in love with it. We constantly played dress up as kids and growing up with access to the internet allowed me to research and explore techniques even before I went to cosmetology school.
5. Use three words to describe your personal style.
Natural, classic, (slightly) glamorous
6. What are three words the other Exquisite Stylists would use to describe your personality?
Regimented/organized, sarcastic, and genuine.
7. What do you love about Salon Exquisite?
We really are a team. We constantly pick each other’s brains and work together to achieve the best results for our clients. We’re all friends, at work and at home; it’s unlike any other salon environment I’ve worked in before.
8. Name a few of your hobbies other than turning heads.
Being with my family, being outdoors (during the warm months), going out to dinner and drinks & binge watching Netflix series.
9. What problems do you consistently solve for your clients?
I ask a lot of questions. Most of the time, I have clients tell me that they’ve never been asked ‘that’ before or that they’ve never been asked so many things. I’ve found that, usually, the problems that clients have with their hair, are just the result of miscommunications of their goals and expectations with their former stylist. I ask a lot of questions to ensure that I know what they’re looking for and then I won’t start until I’ve explained it in a way that a client can fully understand and visualize!
10. What are you complimented on most in your work?
I like mostly natural looks on myself so I tend to attract the same in a client as well. I often hear how soft, blended, and natural my color techniques look. I’m also very meticulous and people often thank me for taking my time to get their look just right!
11. Why do you think Salon Exquisite is so unique?
We are a high end salon with a homey feel! We are friends with each other, we are friends with our clients and even a lot of our clients are friends! You can walk in and immediately feel a comfortable energy.
12. You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
I would be some sort of mauve shade. Soft and pretty, natural and neutral, subtle yet versatile. It’s not too in your face but can still catch your eye.
13. Is there anything else you would like us to know about you?
I joined Ashley’s book club and so far I’m really loving it! It’s nice to take time to do something for myself. Let me know if you have any recommendations for us!
